Harvest Log: track what each crop produced
Add each crop and variety once, log picks in one unit as they come in, and rate the season plenty, enough, not enough, or failed. Rated crops go straight into Variety Verdict, so next year's seed list starts from what actually produced. Saved on your device. No account needed.
Free garden harvest log. Record picks by crop and variety in one unit, rate each crop plenty, enough, not enough, or failed, and send ratings to Variety Verdict for next year.
What the Harvest Log does
- One row per crop and variety per season, matched to the ThriveThyme catalog when the name matches.
- Add picks with a date and an amount. The log totals each crop and the season in pounds.
- Rate each crop when its harvest ends. Ratings carry into Variety Verdict as Grow again, Trial again, or Never.
- Optional grocery value from the store price you enter. ThriveThyme does not guess produce prices.
- Storage tips, planting guides, and Plate to Plot recipes for catalog crops.
- Export the log as CSV.
What each yield band means
| Band | Means | Next year |
|---|---|---|
| Plenty | More than you could eat fresh. You shared, stored, or preserved the extra. | Grow it again. If extra went to waste, plant fewer or space out the sowings. |
| Enough | Covered what you planned to eat. The bed paid its rent. | Grow it again at the same size. |
| Not enough | It produced, but you wanted more or bought some at the store. | Add plants, add a succession sowing, or trial a higher-yield variety. |
| Failed | Little or nothing worth picking. | Find the cause first: timing, soil, pests, pollination, or frost. Then retry or replace the variety. |
Pick one unit per crop
Extension harvest records use the same unit for a crop all season so totals add up.
| Unit | Use for |
|---|---|
| Pounds | Most crops: tomatoes, beans, peppers, cucumbers, zucchini, roots, potatoes |
| Count | Big single crops: winter squash, pumpkins, melons, cabbage, cauliflower, sweet corn ears, heads of lettuce |
| Bunches | Herbs and cut greens you pick by the handful |
| Pints | Berries and cherry tomatoes if you pick into a pint box |
